TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 REFLECTION (WEEK 1)

Week 1(6/7/22 - 8/7/22)

As a part of B.Ed. curriculum, the second phase of school internship has been started on 6/7/22. NSMGHSS, Kottiyam was the school allotted for me. We were a group of 9 students from different optional subjects .we were already provided with the timetable and portions of the class to be taken. And for me I was asked to take physics and chemistry for both VIII D, IX D and IX E.
On the first day, I reached the school at 9.30 am. As per the timetable, I had physics class in VIII D. After introducing myself to them, I moved on to the chapter 'motion' through a friendly conversation. I taught the topic 'Reference body' .Students were divided into groups for conducting the activities. As it was my first day, I should have improved my introductory statement so that more attention could be drawn. On the second day, I taught the topic 'Octet electronic configuration and chemical bonding' in IX D. They were already familiar with the topic from the previous year. So I found it easy to taught them. On 8/7/22, I had class for IX E during the sixth hour and taught the chapter 'Equation of motion'. I also went for peer observation in the seventh hour taken by Hima. She taught the English story 'A shipwrecked sailor' by Gabriel Marques. I feel the class should be more effective if she taught the story with proper voice modulation. I left the school at 3.45 pm after the national anthem.

The first week experience was so good. I could handle the class and this boosted my confidence. Various activities were given and the students were very cooperative. All together I enjoyed very well.
