TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1 REFLECTION(WEEK 3)

Week 3 (17/01/22 - 22/01/22)

The third week of teaching practice started on 17/01/22.As per the timetable, I had a chemistry class for VIII A and taught the topic 'components of water'. On 18/1/22, I taught the topic 'Propagation of sound' in VIII A  and 'Carbon monoxide' in IX A. A diagnostic test of the chapter 'water' was also conducted. The students had answered the questions given without any noise. On 19/01/22,I had only one class. I continued the chapter current electricity and taught the topic 'Factors affecting resistance'. The previous knowledge of the students were checked before the class. I also listen to the class taken by sreenisha at IX A. She taught a poem song of the rain by Khalil Ghibran. On 20/01/22,I had no class as per the timetable. So I went for peer observation at second period in VIII A and third period in IX B. Thasnim taught the topic 'source of sound' and shibina taught the chapter 'velichathinte viralukal'. I really enjoyed both the classes. On the next day onwards due to increasing covid pandemic, the government of Kerala decided to start online class. So on 21/01/22,the teaching practice were conducted via Google meet and provided new timetable. Since I had no class as per the new timetable, I left the school at 3.30 pm. On 22/01/22,the class link was provided through WhatsApp. I taught the topic 'Limit of audibility' and 'Use of ultrasonic wave' from 10.00 am - 11.00 am. Alone with the online teaching, we were also conducting peer online teaching practice through Google meet. I listen the class taken by vineetha on that day.

The classes went well during this week. Since we have to move to online class, we feel many difficulties. we cannot mingle with the students like in the classroom. There were also some network problems for the students. Anyway the classes went well.
