TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 1 REFLECTION(WEEK 1)

WEEK 1 ( 03/01/2022 - 07/01/2022)

As a part of B.Ed. curriculum the first phase of school induction has been started on 3/1/22.SN Trust HSS, Kollam was the school allotted for me. There were a group of 20 students from different optional subjects .we were already provided with the timetable and portions of the class to be taken. And for me I was asked to take physics and chemistry for both VIII.A  and IX.A. 

 

On the first day, I reached the school at 9.30 am. As per the timetable, I had chemistry class in VIII.A. After introducing myself to them, I taught the chemistry topic 'Boiling point of water' and 'Heat capacity of water' from the chapter water. On the second day, I taught the topic 'Source of sound' in VIII.A and 'Allotropes of carbon' in IX.A. On the third day, I had class only for physics in IX.A and taught the topic 'Electromotive force and potential difference'. On the fourth day, I had no class as per the timetable. On the last day of the week, I taught the topic 'Natural frequency' and 'Carbon dioxide'. I also went for peer observation in the second hour taken by Rejani. Due to covid pandemic, classes were scheduled till afternoon. But after the lunch break, we have to take remedial class for Xth students and can only left the school at 3.45 pm.

The first week experience was so good. I could handle the class and this boosted my confidence. Various activities were given and the students were very cooperative. All together I enjoyed very well.
