TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 REFLECTION (WEEK 8)

Week 8 ( 22/8/22 - 25/8/22) The last week of school internship has been started at 22/8/22 till 25/8/22.At VII D,I taught the topic 'contact and non contact force'. I also conducted a post test of balancing chemical equation at IX D. They completed the questions faster as compared to pretest This made me very happy. On 24/8/22,I taught the topic 'frictional force' and 'Different types of friction' at VIII D.I have taken my innovative lesson transcript also. 'Names of elements of periodic table' was the topic I taken for innovative lesson plan. They were very happy today as it was a game oriented hour. The elements of periodic table were studied easily using this method. On 24/8/22 onwards, the onam exam started. I completed the portions of eighth and ninth standard .I utilized the time for completing my pending works.25/8/22 was the last day of our school internship. We have distributed sweets to all teachers and staff in our school. After saying Good by...

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 REFLECTION (WEEK 7)

Week 7 (15/8/22 - 19/8/22) On 15/8/22,there was no class .On 16/8/22,as per the timetable I have only one class. Since I already completed two chapters at VIII D,I decided to conduct an achievement test. The test was out of 25 marks. The question consist of objective type, short answer and very short answer type. I also got a substitution at IX D. I presented them a cartoon based ICT as a strategy for balancing chemical equation. From this video I believe that they found the need for balancing chemical equations. Students were active throughout the period. On 17/8/22,I started a new chapter Force at VIII D and discuss about various examples from our daily life. I got a substitution class at IX D and apply the strategy of balancing chemical equations using weight balance. On 19/8/22,I took a class at IX D during the seventh hour. I applied a shuffling card game for making the concept of balancing easier. Students have a competitive effort in completing the task. Students were actively e...

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 REFLECTION (WEEK 6)

Week 6 (8/8/22-12/8/22) The sixth week of school internship starts on 8/8/22.I taught the topic 'Atoms and molecules' at VIII D and conducted a pretest on the topic 'Balancing of chemical equation' at IX D. The pretest was conducted out of 20 marks. After the pretest, their answers was collected for valuation. On 10/8/22, I taught the topics 'compounds' and 'chemical equation' at VIII D during the third hour. The introduction I gave them based on daily life experience arouses the curiosity to know more about the topic. On 11/8/22,I got a class at IX D during the sixth hour. After the pretest, I found that they have difficulties in balancing chemical equations. So as a strategy 1, I conducted a crossword puzzle game to identify elements and their symbols. A time limit of 10 minute were provided. After the allotted time, I collected the paper and announced the winner. Students were actively engaged in the whole process of completing the puzzle. They were v...

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 REFLECTION (WEEK 5)

Week 5 ( 1/8/22-5/8/22) The fifth week of school internship has been started on 1/8/22 till 5/8/22.On 1/8/22,I started a new chapter 'Basic constituents of matter' at VIII D. I taught them the topics 'Elements and compounds' and 'Orgin of names of elements' .I uses various teaching aids like camphor, china dish, activity card, chart etc. On 2/8/22 and 3/8/22,the collector declared holiday due to heavy rainfall. In 4/8/22,I started a new chapter 'Redox reaction and rate of chemical reactions' at IX D.I taught the topic 'Law of conservation of mass'. All the teaching aids are presented through ICT. The presentation of slides arouses the curiosity of students. With my instruction, they had done all the activities given. On 5/8/22,I have only one class at IX E during the sixth hour . I taught the topic 'Equation showing position time graph'. I also got a substitution class at IX D and taught the topic 'Balancing of chemical equation'....

TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2 REFLECTION (WEEK 4)

Week 4 ( 25/7/22 - 29/7/22) The fourth week of teaching experience was also filled with handful of experiences. On the first day of the week, I reached the school at 9.30 am. As per the timetable, I have a class at VIII D during the second hour. I taught the topic 'Acceleration' and 'Retardation'. Pupil actively participated in the activities as per my instructions. The presentation of ICT makes the class lively and cooperative. I also went for peer observation of class taken by Abhirami. On 26/7/22, I have a class at VIII D. Since I already completed the chapter motion, I  conducted them a diagnostic test. After the lunch break, I observe the class taken by chinnu. During the seventh hour, I got a substitution in class IX D. So I taught them the topic 'valency to chemical formula'. On 27/7/22,I distributed the paper of diagnostic test and found that majority of them had made wrong answers to certain questions from the chapter motion. So I planned to revise the ...

COGNITIVE MAP - ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY

Image
Cognitive Map also known as Concept mapping is a teaching and learning strategy that establishes a bridge between how people learn knowledge and sensible learning. It is a great way to build upon previous knowledge by connecting new information back to it. Students need to have sufficient foundation and critical thinking about concept map. It is an activity that provides the students with an opportunity to organize, summarize, analyze and evaluate many different ideas. Before preparing a cognitive map we should be familiar with unit and the concept related to it. We have to prepare a single unit into a map format and thus every small units of the map is important. So the detailed analysis of the unit is appropriate before preparing a cognitive map. This cognitive map is from Plus One Chemistry chapter - Environmental Chemistry
